The Ontario Rett Syndrome Association realizes that a diagnosis of Rett syndrome can be devastating news for families. We have implemented a support program to aid our families through this transition.
New members receive an initial email to offer help in answering questions that a seasoned parent/caregiver can answer. We also offer the opportunity to meet with families that can provide an experienced view with in your region.
Our Family Outreach Coordinator provides a knowledgeable and caring presence to share: up to date medical news; relevant home care information; brochures on upcoming O.R.S.A. conferences, educational workshops, fundraising and social events; and the importance of participating in the Canadian Rett Syndrome Registry.
