Membership
The Ontario Rett Syndrome Association continues to expand and develop new ways to support its membership. Numerous Conferences have been held over the past few years giving the opportunity to learn and visit with RS experts. All members of the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association were able to attend these conferences at a reduced registration fee. The Ontario Rett Syndrome Newsletter and Rett Syndrome Resource Centre of Canada are both voluntarily operated and completely financially sponsored by O.R.S.A. O.R.S.A. has financially supported research throughout Canada and the development of the Canadian Rett Syndrome Consortium. O.R.S.A. will continue to be a partner in this exciting Canadian research collaboration. O.R.S.A. made a commitment to the first established Rett Syndrome Clinic in Canada which is located at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa. All families can make an appointment to have their loved one with RS seen at this clinic. O.R.S.A. supports all the chapter local activities and endeavours. At this time a new parent and medical professional information package is being developed and will be distributed this year. A new O.R.S.A. pamphlet, educational poster and other educational items have been published this past year. A new support booklet called “The Book of Hope” has been produced to give families inspiration and renewed hope. Please continue to support the Ontario Rett Syndrome Association by renewing your membership. This is one way you can keep informed of all the activities and endeavours that may make a difference in your life or your loved one with Rett Syndrome.
