The Ontario Rett Syndrome Association is very excited to announce some upcoming changes at two (2) of the Rett syndrome clinics that we support in Ontario. Dr. Melissa Carter has decided to take a position at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, effective April 1, 2016. Her decision to join the Rett syndrome clinic in Ottawa is extremely exciting because it places the clinic in a very strong position to continue operations into the future long term. The result of this move for Dr. Carter could have potentially created a situation where the Holland Bloorview’s Rett Syndrome Complex Care clinic would have limited capacity. However, a new doctor will be replacing her immediately. This new doctor will be announced shortly and will be joining Erin Brandon and Nancy Campbell as your advocates at Holland Bloorview’s Rett Syndrome Complex Care clinic.
We would like to congratulate Dr. Melissa Carter on her new position at CHEO and we look forward to seeing her at the Ontario Rett Syndrome Assocation’s Rising Towards Tomorrow conference in April in Ottawa.
